Business Report Daily (for women) Welcome & Introduction.
If you are a women working in the US labor market, at wages only equalling 80% of what your male coworkers are bringing home, slaving away in a dull beige corporate world partitioned off from any natural sunlight, fresh air or cool breezes, than you are not alone. There are 71 million women employed or actively seeking employment in the US labor market. More than 3 million are employed as secretaries and administrative assistants. Another 1.3 million work in reception or clerical positions, and 1.3 million work in accounting positions. (http://www.dol.gov/wb/stats/main.htm)
What this blog is not.
This blog is not going to tell you how to do your job, how to use business ethics in the workplace, how to be more efficient or more professional. Nope, sorry, not going there. There will be nothing of the sort posted around these parts. You see, I am one of your fellow females, also stuck in a beige-cube-all-day who realizes that life is just too short to be reading business blogs while at work. Now, although this site may appear to contain important, work-related reading for professional working women--that is just a cover. The real purpose of this site is to prevent all of you working ladies from getting bored out of your skulls, as you sit in over sized office chairs, with your knees modestly placed side by side, in your work-appropriate heels, in your pencil skirts and hose, daydreaming of what you could be doing outside of work--outside where life is real, alive and in full color.
What this blog may contain.
This blog is not work appropriate. This blog might be naughty. It might get bitchy or crabby. There may be slips of etiquette and possibly even the occasional foul language. I'm not here to be dull -- I am here to entertain and help you take your mind off (and help me take my mind off) a confining, restrictive, and at times quite inane and unreasonable job.
